Some have smudges or are slightly (or a lot!) out of register. Sometimes I just think they’re boring. I’ve been inspired by what other folks have done with watercolors and pencils over their prints, transforming them into something else entirely, so I’ve spent the holiday messing around with this process.

Here is an original monotype–not very interesting in my view.

  • I added some watercolor and a whole LOT of colored pencils, and I’m pretty happy with the result! Kinda wild and definitely more interesting.

    Here are some others, although I neglected to take a picture of the before state on the print, so I guess you’ll just need to take my word for it that they weren’t very interesting…
