Enhanced Trace Monotype – Nude

This image started with a simple ‘trace’ monotype and was enhanced with water colors and Prismacolor pencils. To keep the image from getting dark, I did a lot of cross-hatching with different colors to create a layered effect. One of the hallmarks of a trace monotype is the mottling of the ink in the background–I think it adds an interesting complexity showing underneath the color.
